When individuals feel as though they are independent and have a purpose, they are on their way to self-sufficiency. We will strive to assist them gain self-worth and dignity by providing those who live in poverty with educational tools whether it’s computer skills, a technical trade or pursuing a college education.
For many households in developing countries, the entire family works in the fields. Without the necessary skills, they are unable to raise crops in their sliver of land. Poverty and malnutrition usually accompany subsistence farming, especially if drought or torrential rains destroy the little crops they have. ICARE can teach life skills to farmers and fishermen who can use this knowledge to earn a wage to feed their families. Having a steady income will also enable them to provide some necessities.
